AIRLINE TUI has announced it is adding an extra 15,000 seats on planes at Bournemouth Airport for next summer.

This additional capacity will see increased frequency for Bournemouth customers and will include flights to Kefalonia in Greece twice a week to give customers the option of 10- or 11-night durations.

TUI has said it is showing the company’s commitment to offering “more choice and flexibility to customers” at Bournemouth Airport.

Andrew Flintham, TUI UK and Ireland manager director, said: “We are seeing an increase in demand from the Bournemouth region, which is why we have added an additional 15,000 seats to our summer 2025 programme.

“This now means that there will be more flights to Turkey, Greece and Spain giving customers more choice not only in destination but also in holiday duration and flight times.

“Our customers want to go on the holiday best for them, and they want to be able to fly out of their local airport.”

TUI's summer 2025 offering includes Greece (Corfu, Heraklion, Rhodes, Kefalonia and Zakynthos twice weekly), Turkey (Antalya and Dalaman twice weekly) and Spain (four weekly flights to Mallorca, including two for Marella Cruises).

Meanwhile, next summer will also see Jet2 fly from the airport for the first time.

In a major investment for the Leeds-Bradford Airport based operator, 16 destinations are now available to book including in Spain, the Canary Islands, Greece, Portugal and Turkey.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate up to 27 weekly flights, including multiple weekly flights to popular destinations across the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey and Greece as well as services to hotspots such as mainland Spain, Portugal and Madeira.

Earlier this year, Ryanair announced it would be flying planes to a new continent for Bournemouth Airport: Agadir on the southwest coast of Morocco, Africa.

Bosses at the airport are expecting to welcome more than a million passengers through its terminal this year - a number last hit 15 years ago in 2008.
