MORE than £80 worth of meat was stolen from a New Forest Tesco.

A theft investigation has been launched by police officers after the goods were stolen from Tesco in Caird Avenue, New Milton, on the afternoon of March 23.

As part of the officers’ enquiries, a CCTV image has been released of a woman who they would like to speak to as part of the investigation.

A spokesman for New Milton police said: “Teams in the New Forest are cracking down on business crime

“We recognise that shoplifting can often be accompanied by disorder, violence and threats, which creates an environment of fear for retail workers which is unacceptable.

“This is in addition to the impact that theft can have on businesses and consumers.

“The community are our eyes and ears, and we encourage you to keep reporting information to police relating to shoplifting.

“If you know who this person is, please contact police on 101, quoting 44240125417. You can also submit information to us online.

“Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via their anonymous online form.”
