The A27 is the latest road to be subject to repairs – much to the disdain of motorists.

It comes as one side of nearby Charles Watts Way remains closed for landslip work.

But SGN – who is undertaking the repairs on the A27 – hope to complete the work soon.

Waseem Hanif, spokesperson for the gas distribution company, said: “We’ve been carrying out emergency repairs to our gas network in the A27 Southampton.

“This work is essential to preventing a temporary loss of gas supplies to over 100 properties.

“Our engineering team has today completed the repairs to our gas main, however we now need to safely restore the road surface before we can remove our temporary traffic lights.

“Our reinstatement team will restore the road surface on April 12.

“We then need to wait until the new surface hardens to the required specification.

“All going well, we’ll be able to return the road to normal this weekend.”
