Nearly all children have been offered a place at one of their preferred infant, junior or primary schools in Hampshire.

More than 20,500 parents who applied on time for a school place for children starting school in September 2024 – either in Reception or in Year 3 in a junior school – have been sent the outcome of their application by Hampshire County Council today.

More than 99 per cent of parents have been offered a reception year place for their child in one of their three preferred schools, with 93.64 per cent allocated a place at their first preference school.

Of pupils transferring from infant school to junior school, 99.27 per cent received a place at one of their three preferences, and 97.78 per cent were placed at their first preference school.

Pupils who did not secure a place at one of their preferred schools have been allocated a place at their catchment school or the next nearest school with a place available with parents advised on waiting lists and the right to appeal.
