A barber who provides hair cuts for charity and specialises in making special needs children feel comfortable during a trim has opened her second Hampshire salon.

Louise Whitemore, who has been a barber in and around Southampton and Winchester for 18 years, opened Loula Barbers in Swanwick Lane two years ago and she's just added a second branch in Fair Oak, taking over an existing barber shop in Summerlands Road last month.

Staff at both the shops, named after a childhood nickname, are highly skilled in all areas of barbering from classic scissor cuts to skin fades and children’s cuts.

Louise, who ran the Tokyo Marathon for Ronald McDonald House last month, regularly volunteers her time at the Southampton house, a space to give families the chance to stay close to their child whilst they are in hospital, providing hair cuts for those staying there.

Her and her team are also known for their patience and understanding when providing cuts for young children and those with special needs.

Louise told the Daily Echo: "We have a special skill for patience and understanding and therefore specialise in SEN haircuts.

"We combine our expertise as skilled barbers with the parent’s knowledge of their child and deliver a tailored service to allow that child to have their hair cut in a space that feels safe for them.

"People want a decent hair cut in a clean space, value for money and someone who cares about what they do. We provide all these things and that makes people keep coming back to Loula Barbers."

Staff at both the shops promise to bring you the most current and up-to-date trends as well as classic styles.

There are zero wait times at the shops, as bookings made via the app or phone are prioritised, although walk-in appointments are also available.

Louise has always been a big supporter of charities, community groups and good causes locally, regularly donating vouchers to school fetes, raffles and other events, and will continue her good work in the new shop.
