Residents of Shawford Springs care home enjoyed a day out feeding alpacas and goats at Petlake Alpacas in The New Forest.
The care home, located on Otterbourne Road in Compton, took advantage of the sunny day to offer residents a unique experience last week.
The residents not only fed over 80 alpacas and goats but also learned about the animals including their membership in the Camelid family and how they are bred for their fine wool.
Lys, one of the care home residents said: "I so enjoyed meeting and feeding the beautiful Alpacas and goats, it’s been a wonderful afternoon."
Jeanette, another resident at the home, said: "The baby Alpaca (or Cria as they are called) was so cute and friendly."
General Manager Cassie Munnoch said: "Our residents have really enjoyed their visit to Petlake Alpacas today. The sun was shining and they all loved meeting and feeding the Alpacas and the goats, we can’t wait to visit again.
"We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people."
Petlake Alpacas has been in operation since 2010.
