CHERRIES have confirmed plans to spend two weeks of pre-season in USA for a training camp.

In recent years, Cherries have prepared for their campaigns in the likes of Spain and Portugal, last travelling to the US under Eddie Howe in 2016.

From July 15, Cherries will spend two weeks in Los Angeles, California. They will use training facilities of MLS side LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park.

The trip will also include a visit to owner Bill Foley’s Hotel Californian in Santa Barbara.

Cherries president of business Jim Frevola said: “It’s great that we’re able to take the team back to the US for the first time in nearly 10 years.

“I’m so excited to head out there and see and grow our fanbase in the area, and to continue to develop the club off the field.

“We were thrilled by the recent Premier League event in Nashville and now we can’t wait to meet with more Cherries fans out on the west coast.”

Chief executive Neill Blake added: “I’m delighted that we’re able to confirm this exciting news and that we will be providing the best possible preparation for the playing squad to continue their great work this season.

“We’ve secured an incredible facility for Andoni and his staff to operate in, for the start of what will be an historic season for AFC Bournemouth as we prepare to move into a state-of-the-art training ground of our own.”

Cherries have also confirmed they will host two friendly matches at Vitality Stadium, ahead of the Premier League starting on the weekend of August 17.
