An investigation has been launched after a man suffered cuts and bruises during an alleged attack.
Police say the man was assaulted by a woman between 12.30am and 1am this morning (May 11) near Sainsbury's on Lord's Hill Way.
He suffered cuts and bruises to his face during the incident.
Now a 42-year-old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
She remains in custody at this time.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “Officers investigating an assault in Lord's Hill Way are appealing for witnesses to assist their investigation.
“We believe there were some people in the area around this time who may have witnessed the incident, and we are keen to speak with them.
“Anyone with information or who can assist our enquiries can call 101, quoting the reference 44240196875.”
