A planning bid has been submitted to Southampton City Council to convert a former Royal British Legion social club into offices.
The former Woolston Royal British Legion building, on Sholing Road, was previously used as a social club.
The club served food and beverages as well as hosting entertainment events and meetings, but the use of the building for this purpose has ceased for some time.
In the planning application, the developer said: “The structure is single-storey with mono-pitched roofs, forming a utilitarian appearance.
“There are some out-buildings that were previously used for storage or entertainment space. The general condition of the buildings is poor.
“The current occupiers wish to carry out a change-of-use to provide support offices to a local specialist residential care business that operates units throughout the locality.”
The new offices would only operate from 8am until 6pm and the developer states this would offer significantly less disturbance for residents compared to a social club.
