Foreman Homes Group, a Hampshire-based family business, has made children's cancer charity Abby's Heroes its good cause for the year.

The housebuilder has a longstanding tradition of dedicating fundraising efforts to a single charity each year.

Llast year around £5,000 was raised for the Isle of Wight brain charity Brainstrust.

Abby's Heroes support children undergoing cancer treatment, and their families, at University Hospital Southampton, offering practical help with financial hardships, end-of-treatment awards, counselling services, and more.

Families faced with a child's cancer diagnosis often experience upheaval as the gruelling intricacies of treatment take over daily life, causing separation, job disruptions and financial difficulties.

Abby's Heroes steps in offering a lifeline of support extending from welfare packs to snack boxes for hospital wards.

The Foreman Homes team is on track to make a substantial difference this year. Already, they've raised close to £2,500 for the charity in just four months.

Fundraising schemes have included a quiz night, an internal raffle, and a daring fire walk. Participants from the team have also joined the ABP Southampton race.

Currently, a team is training hard for the South Coast Ultra Challenge: a gruelling 57km hike along the South Downs set for Saturday, September 7.

Foreman Homes sales director, Spencer Drake, said: "We’re thrilled to be able to support Abby’s Heroes and the amazing work it does for children and their families in Southampton.

"Our company values are focused on the homes we build and the communities we become a part of. We’re proud to say that community now includes Abby’s Heroes and we are looking forward to seeing how our fundraising helps to support them this year."

David Fawcett, community fundraiser at Abby’s Heroes, said: "We are delighted that Foreman Homes have chosen Abby’s Heroes as their Charity of the Year.

"It is only through the support of individuals and businesses that we can continue to support children with cancer and their families across the South Coast. The enthusiasm and support we have received from the whole team at Foreman Homes has been amazing, we are really excited about the year ahead!"
