Temporary carriageway and footpath changes along with temporary lights will be in place. Please plan ahead @Southamptoncc
This comes as the bridge is set for full closure this summer, from July 15 until September 6, for the council to carry out repair works and suicide prevention work.
The authority has said the maintenance project will ensure that the bridge remains in good working order and will include drainage improvements, resurfacing and the installation of additional safety features.
Speaking previously about the closure of the bridge this summer, Councillor Eamonn Keogh, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, previously said: "We fully appreciate the disruption that the closure of the Itchen Bridge to motor vehicles will cause and apologise for the inconvenience.
"However there is no other way to undertake this maintenance and it must be completed to ensure the health of the Itchen Bridge going forward."
