Two cheeky pigs at a rescue centre in Fareham are looking for a new home.

Pigs Ada and Isla are two very clever sisters in the care of the Stubbington Ark Animal Rescue Centre in Fareham.

The team said that Ada is a 'sweet girl who loves being around people' and Isla is 'full of personality and likes everyone to know she’s the boss'.

However, staff have warned that the pigs can have their moments.

When first coming into the Ark, both swine would lunge for food and snap at the staff out of frustration.

However, Ada and Isla have settled well and through training sessions they are now much calmer and will step back and wait for their food.

Each day the pairs' behaviour is improving, the team said; Ada enjoys a back scratch but Isla still doesn’t like being touched and is working to trust the staff.

Casey, Small Animals Lead at Stubbington Ark, said: “Ada and Isla are two very smart girls and I love spending time with them.

“They have come a long way from when they first came in to us here at the Stubbington Ark.

“Both girls enjoy their clicker training sessions and are bonding more and with the staff and are starting to trust them more every day.”

The sisters will need to be adopted together and will need a large secure field with stock and fencing, a large pig shelter and a wallow.

Staff also said that potential owners will also need a CPH number for their land.

The rescue centre also said it may be able to help with transport of the pigs but to discuss this with the staff.

Ada and Isla cannot live with children as they can be unpredictable, however they could live with other pigs.

Both are fully vaccinated and have no current health concerns.
