Several arrests were made by police after Southampton FC scored a Championship win.

Saints defeated rivals Leeds United at Wembley on Sunday, claiming a spot in the Premier League.

But despite the jovial atmosphere from fans on both sides, Met Police officers made 31 arrests.

The force was unable to confirm where the offenders were from.

A spokesperson said: “These were for offences including fraud; possession of a flare (firework) and public order offences.

“One person has been charged and will appear in court.”

It comes after a video of a brawl between Saints and Leeds fans was shared on X.

Fans were seen spilling onto Wembley Way some time after the match, with punches being thrown between a handful of men.

Two men sporting Saints kit were seen helping one injured man up from the ground.
