This is the moment a man at an anti-immigration protest stormed at a police sergeant before being tackled to the ground.

Ryan Wheatley, who wore a England flag on his shoulders, was shoved to the ground after officers spotted him at the demonstration at Grosvenor Square last Wednesday.

He later admitted to assaulting a police sergeant at Southampton Magistrates' Court on August 9.

At Southampton Crown Court today, he was jailed for 12 months for assaulting an emergency worker.

Judge Parker KC said the protest had been widely publicised and that "it is perfectly clear to me that you intended to cause violence or threaten violence with the other group".
