Son Tim said: "Dad was active and healthy, without any medical concerns so we had absolutely no idea what was coming until that evening.

Despite best efforts from myself, my Mum and the paramedics, we were unable to save him, and he tragically passed away.

"He was the best dad and like a best friend to me. He has been missed every day since he left us."

Tim will take on the trek from SaintJean-Pied-de-Port in the South-West of France to Santiago de Compostela in North-West Spain, hiking around 30km a day for over five weeks, including mountainous regions.

He has already raised nearly £3,000 so far. To sponsor him, visit justgiving.com/page/tim-bacon-1714977991695
