Twenty five new affordable homes are being built at the heart of Dibden Purlieu.
The project began after three years of contention with the New Forest District Council (NFDC) planning department, followed by an appeal solidifying AJC Group's proposal in January 2024.
The development, being completed on behalf of housing association Aster Group, will offer a selection of rented two, three, and sturdy four-bedroom homes to local families being increasingly priced out of their hometown.
David Cracklen, director of AJC Group, said: "The New Forest is an area of Hampshire which is dramatically lacking in affordable housing stock.
"This development will make a real impact in meeting some of the local housing needs in the village and surrounding area.
"All homes will be energy efficient and built to the highest standards, providing a great opportunity for local families to stay local."
Particular attention has been given to the aesthetics, as homes will maintain Dibden Purlieu's traditional charm with red brick detailing, porches, tiled roofs, and bay windows.
Serving as eye candy, extra vegetation will be planted along the preserved grass verges and mature trees.
Strategically located on Noads Way, these homes are a short walk away from schools, shops, and public transport facilities in the town centre.
A plethora of transport links are also conveniently nearby with scheduled bus services navigating to Southampton city and local villages such as Calshot, Langley, Lepe, and Fawley.
Allocation of the 11 rented homes will be carried out by NFDC.
As for the shared ownership homes, more details are available on the Aster Group's website.
David added: "The development will allow the next generation to afford to rent and buy in an area where they might have grown up or have family living.
"Our vision has always been to deliver lasting change through the building of affordable homes in sustainable vibrant communities, and this is exactly our aim for Dibden Purlieu."
