Southern Water has warned that 92 homes in Nursling could experience water issues for several days.

On August 22 homes and businesses in the Nursling area were left without a water supply after it stopped at around 11.30pm.

Costa Coffee, the Walnut Tree Farm Carvery and residents living in Hillyfields, Redbridge Lane and Toogoods Way were all left without water.

The water outage was due to a valve bursting during a leak repair overnight in Redbridge Lane.

Southern Water has now confirmed that the outage could leave residents with out water for several days.

A spokesperson for Southern Water said: "For the 92 properties that were out of supply (Hillyfields, Redbridge Lane and Toogoods Way), water supply is back but it will be at a lower pressure than normal.

"Our teams are working hard to fix this issue but due to the complex nature of the repairs we expect this will continue for several days.

"There should be no more harmless sediment within the network as well."

"We will also be keeping customers up to date with SMS messages, where we have their contact details, and updating our website and social media channels."

Caroline Mutuku lives with her family on Bodding Avenue and said that she could not even bath her children

She said she returned home late on Thursday night and was surprised when she turned on the tap to see that there was no water.

She said: "After trying the tap I went onto Facebook and saw in the local group that people were saying the water was off.

"Now it has been off for about 15 hours.

"I wandered over to where the Southern Water men were working and they said it will be back on shortly.

"It seems to come back on at low pressure at around midnight last night.

"The people from Southern Water have been there since last.

"I couldn’t even bathe my children last night, it was too late and the water was on such low pressure. I thought I’ll wait till the morning.

"It turns out that I can’t even bathe this morning because the water is still out.

"We have been making do with bottled water.

"The neighbours have been great around our area. We have all been sharing water and looking out for each other."
