Plans for six new flats in Southampton by refurbishing a city centre property have been approved.
The plans for the two three-bedroom and four one-bedroom flats were given the go-ahead for the properties on Morris Road after a retrospective planning application was submitted.
The proposals included a flat roof box dormer for both properties which helps the remodelling of the property.
A retrospective planning application is submitted after the work or development has been completed.
The authority then reviews the application as if the development had not yet occurred, assessing its impact and compliance with planning regulations.
If granted, the retrospective application regularizes the unauthorized development. However, if denied, the applicant may be required to undo the changes or face enforcement action.

The application also notes that although the front of the house will provide parking spaces for only two of the apartments, it does note this is common in the area as only about half of the nearby properties have off-road parking.
Furthermore, the property is close to the city centre and to public transport links.
Bike storage and sheds are also provided at the back.
After the plans were submitted on June 24, it attracted a lot of support from residents, as being flats it won’t add to the several houses of multiple occupation (HMOs) in the area.
The resident said: “I am delighted with this development. It will improve the road absolutely.
“It will provide decent accommodation and it is NOT " shared accommodation" nor is it an "HMO" which we have been subject to for over 25 years.
“Mostly these properties were not really cared for they were creators of both noise and rubbish.
“I am certain these NEW conversions into flats will serve as comfortable homes for serious people and will lift the profile of the road.”
Another resident echoed these words, saying: “There are several conversions of the same superb standard made by the same owner in the immediate area.
“These are tastefully done with care and concern for the tenants in that the individual flats are spacious and are perfect for both families or young couples.
“To provide such accommodation in these days bereft of decent available rental properties is worthy of high praise.”
