Southampton has a huge variety of restaurants for people to try out encompassing cuisines from all around the world.
As a result, it could be a hard choice to pick out a spot, especially if you're not familiar with the area.
Therefore, we thought it might be best to ask our readers for their recommendations.
We put out a Facebook post asking the question and here are the responses we received.
Best spots for dinner in Southampton according to readers
There were more than 450 comments left on the Facebook post, and several names cropped up quite a few times.
The Italian restaurant Figurati, in Ocean Village, was by far the most mentioned place among the suggestions, which has a 4.5/5 score on Tripadvisor from 679 reviews.
One person wrote: "Figurati is a personal favourite of mine the food and service is top notch."
Another shared: "Figurati, tried it for the first time last month and realised what all the hype was about."
Meanwhile, another wrote: "Amazing food, the decor is gorgeous and modern & it’s right on the waterfront."
Another Italian restaurant, Soleto, in Commercial Road, has a few fair recommendations, with one person saying it was "hands down best restaurant in Southampton, nothing compares".
Another commented: "Soleto is easily the best Italian in soton by a very long way."
Italian restaurants seemed to be a theme among the comments as Max's Brasserie, which is right next door to Soleto, was also praised by a few.
One person posted: "Max’s Brasserie the only Italian restaurant in Southampton, chef Genbaro and Max himself are great, quality and great service."
Another wrote: "Max's Brasserie is a lovely place, great food and amazing staff."

Meanwhile, another put: "Max's Brasserie always our top choice, enjoy every meal and drink consumed there. Plus the staff are awesome."
If you were looking for some Indian cuisine then Coriander Lounge was recommended by a few readers whilst The Jetty was highlighted for its seafood.
Other places that got multiple mentions included Casa Brasiil, Gurkha Lounge, Ottoman Kitchen, Piccolo Mondo and Shanghai 1814.
