A programme encouraging children to make healthier choices has been recognised for its 'innovative work.'
LifeLab, a research-based educational programme, helps children and teenagers understand the science behind their health.
More than 15,000 students from more than 100 schools have visited LifeLab at Southampton General Hospital.
The programme is a collaboration between the University of Southampton, NIHR Southampton Biomedical Research Centre, and University Hospital Southampton.
LifeLab has been shortlisted in the Health at Every Age category at this year’s Health & Wellbeing Awards, organised by the Royal Society for Public Health.
Professor Kath Woods-Townsend said: "We are delighted to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation.
"Everyone involved in LifeLab strongly believes that we can improve the health of the population by starting with the younger generation.
"Being shortlisted in this fantastic category is a testament to everyone’s dedication to helping young people to understand more about their bodies and the impact of their choices."
