More than 100 homes have been built as part of a new development in Warsash.
The Rivercross development was visited by the new Hamble Valley MP, Paul Holmes, who was given a tour and a progress update.
Paul Holmes, the Member of Parliament for Hamble Valley, said: "Building new affordable homes is vital for the country and I believe every new development should be thoughtfully designed, well built, and fit into the local community.
"I was pleased to tour the Rivercross development and see how Bargate Homes are working to achieve this, and I look forward to seeing the final phase delivered."
The scheme in Brook Lane is being delivered by Bargate Homes, which is owned by housing association VIVID.
VIVID is the fifth biggest builder amongst housing associations in England.
Mark Perry, chief executive of VIVID, said: "It was great to catch up with Paul in his new constituency and to highlight how our innovative development approach with the ownership of Bargate Homes is helping deliver well-designed, well-built new open market housing locally but crucially, how it’s also helping us build more new affordable homes for those that really need them across our region.
"We’re proud of the efforts taken by the Bargate Homes’ team to progress this development, it was also encouraging to receive Paul’s positive feedback."
More than 100 of the 118 homes that are planned for phases one and two of the development have been completed.
But only three of the homes built so far are still available to buy.
The first two phases include a total of 48 new affordable homes.
Steve Birch, Bargate Homes’ land and planning director, added: "We appreciated the time Paul spent with us.
"We valued the opportunity to talk about the approach we’re taking to the design, layout and build quality of the open market and affordable homes we’re delivering here after many years of work in seeing this site secured and promoted through the planning system.
"It was also good to have the chance to speak about the importance of designing well-balanced mixed tenure communities, as we’re creating here."
It’s expected the whole development will be completed by summer 2028.
