Lifeboat crews were called to rescue a dog and its owners from Eling Creek, Totton, after getting into difficulty in the water.
On Sunday, September 1, crews from RNLI Calshot Lifeboat and Hamble Lifeboat carried out a search of the shoreline following reports a dog owner had entered the water to try and rescue his canine companion.
Upon reaching the scene, lifeboat crews were informed that both the dog owner was seen exiting the water and – shortly followed by his pet – where they were safely reunited ashore.

Graham Burgess, a volunteer D Class helm on the night for Calshot Lifeboat, said: “We were all relieved to hear that both the dog and owner had been safely reunited on dry land.”
They added: “People may not think we attend shouts involving animals, but we’d much rather get called out to help, rather than a member of the public putting themselves in danger and becoming a casualty themselves.”
