A motorcyclist who died on the M27 has been named as an inquest opened into his death.
Andrew Paul Wise, 61, died on the motorway at Junction 12 at Portsmouth on Sunday, August 25.
The stretch of motorway was shut for eight hours causing traffic chaos.
The inquest into his death was opened at Portsmouth Coroners' Court on Monday by senior coroner Christopher Wilkinson.

Mr Wilkinson said that emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 10.30am on August 25 after reports came in of a body on the carriageway.
The senior coroner said that Mr Wise, of Emsworth, had been travelling westbound on the M27 on a Suzuki motorbike when he collided with the central barrier.
Emergency services attempted to aid Mr Wise, but he died at approximately 11.22am.
Mr Wise's initial cause of death has been given as multiple severe injuries, the brief hearing was told.
Mr Wilkinson adjourned the inquest, with the full inquest into Mr Wise's death to take place at Portsmouth Coroner's Court on July 28 next year.
