Punters have praised bosses of a Southampton pub after a 'hilarious' sign has been spotted outside.
The Prince of Wales pub on Princes Street in is often the first boozer seen by residents travelling across Northam Bridge and into the city centre.
In a bid to attract customers into the well-known red and white pub, a sign has been put up outside that said: "Free beer, topless barmaids and false advertisement."
And now Daily Echo Facebook users have given their verdict on this unusual form of advertisement, with punters praising the pub bosses' sense of humour.
One Facebook commenter said: "World needs more humour - it’s a dark place good to see it brightened up.
Another user wrote: "Saw this this other day! Thought it was brilliant."
Other users said that they expect some people to be offended by the sign, with another person adding: "Oh the do-gooders will be on the march about that. I think it’s funny too."
