Police in the city centre have seized cannabis disguised as Skittles sweets.
Officers from the City Centre Unit uncovered a series of alleged offences after stopping a suspicious vehicle on Old Northam Road.
Police said the driver of a car which was stopped by officers, a man in his 30s, was found to be in possession of cannabis, but had disguised it as a knock-off style of Skittles.
It soon became worse for the Southampton driver when police said checks revealed that the individual had neither a valid driver’s licence nor insurance.
Police took to Facebook to share the incident and unusual cannabis discovery with residents.

A police spokesperson said: "If you want skittles, stick to the normal kind from most stores.
"This serves as a reminder that even anything can lead to unexpected discoveries, and highlights the importance of road safety and abiding by the law."
