A by-election has been announced following the retirement of a former council leader.
Hampshire County Council has confirmed the by-election for the Bishops Waltham electoral division will take place on Thursday, October 31, following the retirement of former council leader Councillor Rob Humby.
The names of the candidates standing for election will be announced on October 7. Residents not registered to vote must do so by Tuesday, October 15.
Winchester City Council is overseeing the by-election for Carolyn Williamson, the county council's chief executive and returning officer.
Applications for postal voting need to be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday, October 16, while proxy voting applications must be in by 5pm on Wednesday, October 23.
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on the day of the election. Voters must bring photo identification to the polling station.
