A thug kicked and threatened police officers with a traffic sign in a drunken rage after the Euros final.

Casey Taylor-Holloway was 10 bottles of cider deep when she started her tirade of abuse.

The 32-year-old former Police and Crime Commissioner volunteer had been throwing drinks and carrying a traffic cone after watching the UEFA Euro Final on July 14, 2024.

This was only five days after she was handed a suspended sentence at Southampton Crown Court.

She was approached by patrolling officers when she was spotted holding a traffic sign aloft in Guildhall Square, prosecutor Andrew Coley told the same court on February 5.

“At one point she squared up to an officer who warned she would be arrested”, Mr Coley said.

She then lunged at another officer while holding a temporary metal barrier over her head.

Mr Coley said: “Officers instructed her to leave the area, and no further action would be taken, but she became more antagonised.

“The defendant swung an arm out and caught the top of an officer’s cap, causing her to fall to the ground.

“She claimed she had been pushed by an officer and then launched a kick just north of an officer’s knee.”

Body worn footage from the incident was shown to the court, and Taylor-Holloway was seen arguing with police officers about the traffic signs before she threatened them.

One officer told her to “get away and leave”, to which she responded: “Or what? Or what?”

She was arrested that same night.

Speaking after watching the footage, Judge Rufus Taylor branded her behaviour as “really unpleasant”.

Mitigating, Robert Bryan said his client – a who previously worked as a youth worker – is “extremely sorry”.

He added: “My client tells me the order imposed by Southampton Crown Court on July 9, 2024 was not yet in force.”

The court heard how Taylor-Holloway was handed a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, for offences including possession of a knife, assault, battery, and possessing a weapon on Halloween.

Passing sentence, Judge Taylor said: “You were being told to leave by officers and you should have walked away.

“I am amazed by how kind and decently these officers behaved despite facing such provocation.”

She was given a seven-month sentence suspended for two years and must complete a nine month alcohol treatment programme and 23 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
