A training company is using virtual reality to help tradespeople improve their skills.
Engineering Real Results (ERR) now offers virtual reality training at centres across the country, including in Chandler's Ford.
The company, which trains people in trades like plumbing, gas, electrics, welding, and renewables, uses virtual reality headsets to simulate real scenarios in a classroom environment.
Director Ricky Sharma said: "There is an urgent need for trained and accredited tradespeople in plumbing, electrics and renewable energies.
"Nothing will ever replace real life, hands-on experience, but we have found virtual reality has been a really helpful addition to what we offer.
"Younger students in particular appreciate that we are using new technology to expand what we do."
The skills learned are later practised in ERR’s training areas and further honed at active development sites.
These sites have included a former hat factory in Luton, a guest house in Dunstable, and a Victorian mill in Stoke-on-Trent.
