A new McDonalds fast food restaurant is coming to Gosport High Street - and a date has been set for the fryers to be greased up for the first time.

The former Burton clothing store at 111-112 High Street in Gosport has been undergoing a transformation over recent months to ready the store for it to become a McDonald's fast food store.

With the chain stating that 120 new jobs are set to be bought to the area the restaurant will be able to seat 48 people.

The opening of the new branch will follow other new additions to the Hampshire area including the new store at Whiteley.

McDonald's has said the Gosport venue will start serving hot fries and burgers from July - with an exact opening date still to be revealed.

The site was purpose-built to be a clothing store in the 1930s.
