A beloved ride which has operated at Paultons Park since 2012 will leave the park permanently in just a matter of weeks.

Visitors will have their last chance to ride Magma this summer before the popular drop ride is officially retired from the park on September 7.

While iconic rollercoaster Cobra is closing for a period to be rebranded, the 82-foot drop ride Magma will permanently leave the park this summer.

At the park's Super Fans Day 2025 event earlier this year, concept art was revealed for the park's £12 million new Viking themed world, Valgard, which opens in Spring 2026.

But the art notably had Magma missing, and executives at the event said that the ride would be moving to another location in the UK, but did not confirm where.

A spokesperson for Paultons Park confirmed to the Echo that Magma is leaving the park to create space for the construction of the park's £12 million new Viking themed world, Valgard, which opens in Spring 2026.

The iconic Cobra ride will be renamed to "Raven" as part of the new Valgard themed area, alongside the park's first inverting rollercoaster named Drakon, which will feature a vertical lift hill and two twists.

A new Vild Swing will also be installed, swirling riders 12 metres in the air in a UK first attraction.

A themed restaurant and playground will also be included.

A spokesperson for Paultons Park said: "It's your final chance to ride Cobra as you know it.

"The ride will be closing for a thrilling retheme on 7th September, don't miss it."

The Cobra coaster cost the park £2 million when it was opened in 2006.

Paultons Park itself was recently named by The Telegraph as one of the UK's best days out for the summer holidays as its "phenomenal" rides were praised.
