Fareham Borough Council has revealed the date for its annual Christmas lights switch on.
The popular event will take place on November 22, from 10am to 7pm along the pedestrianised area of West Street.
The festive day will be packed with family entertainment, including fun fair rides and festive gift stalls, stage and walkabout performers, and delicious festive food and drink.
Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Councillor Connie Hockley, said: "The Fareham Christmas Lights switch on event attracts thousands of visitors each year and is a real treat for everyone.
"There is so much to see and do, and I really encourage Fareham residents to come along.
"You can get some Christmas shopping at our indoor market and festive stalls or indulge in some delicious food and drink, all while being entertained and amazed by our stage and street performers.
"The Christmas lights countdown is a real spectacle and I for one cannot wait."
Children can look forward to a range of free activities, including letter writing to Santa, Christingle making, and Christmas-themed Lego building.
The Christmas market, organised by Funyard Events, will return again this year.
Those interested in hosting a stall can find more information at funyardevents.com.
Father Christmas will also make a special appearance during the annual event.
A community stage will run throughout the day, and the council is currently seeking performers for scheduled time slots.
Anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to email leisure@fareham.gov.uk.
The highlight of the day will be the lights switch on at 5:30pm, taking place under the town centre band stand.
The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Louise Clubley, will do the honours this year alongside her Mayor's Consort, Jonathan Clubley, Father Christmas, and some of Fareham Live’s Beauty and the Beast pantomime cast.
More information is available on the Fareham Borough Council website.
The council is still offering sponsorship opportunities for the event.
This year’s Christmas lights switch on promises a packed programme of entertainment, shopping, and seasonal fun for all ages as Fareham lights up the town once again.
