The Hampshire Writers' Society is hosting two speakers at its next meeting.

Sean Bennett, a creative writing group organiser and former Oxford University Press copywriter and copyeditor, will discuss overcoming creative block through automatic writing.

His interview-style session, titled 'Mining the Unconscious with Automatic Writing—Transcending Creative Block,' will be conducted with HWS member Sam Christie.

Jonathan Plummer, who has been working in television production and journalism since the 1980s, will also be speaking.

Currently a senior lecturer in film and television at Solent University, Jonathan will share insights into academic publishing, drawing on his upcoming work 'Movies and the Church of Baseball: Religion in the Cinema of the National Pastime.'

His talk will cover writing and editing for a broader audience.

The meeting will take place at 7.30pm on October 7 at the Tower Arts Centre, Romsey Road, Winchester.

The event is open to the public with a £10 admission fee, £2 for students, and free for HWS members.
