Southampton Airport has been named one of the most friendly in the world in a study that analysed thousands of reviews.

The analysis looked at over 120 of the world's busiest airports and scoured through over 71,000 Google reviews that mentioned staff to determine those with the best customer care and friendly workers.

Researchers particularly looked for 52 positive staff-related keywords, including "patient" and "professional", filtering out false positives like "not friendly" or "not polite".

Southampton Airport came in fourth place in a ranking of the world's "friendliest airports", with 70.9 per cent of reviews being positive.

The Hampshire air strip was only beaten by Taiwan Taoyuan International in first, Cornwall Airport in second and Narita International Airport in third.

Analysis was completed by Airport Parking and Hotels (APH).

Some 100 of the busiest airports globally were included in the research, along with 23 of the busiest in the UK.
