Hythe man arrested after burglary at Waterside home

A man from Hythe has been arrested after a reported burglary at a home on the Waterside.

Officers were called following an incident at a property on Beech Crescent on Tuesday afternoon, March 4, when it was reported that a man entered the address and stole a purse containing cash.

Police launched an investigation and arrested a 34-year-old man on Thursday evening, March 5, in connection with the incident.

He was detained on suspicion of burglary and remains in police custody while enquiries continue.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is being urged to contact police and officers in Hampshire have reminded residents that all suspected burglaries should be reported to police as soon as possible.
