Southampton has a number of quality pubs for people to enjoy, but only a few can claim to be award-winning.

Numerous listicles from various organisations such as CAMRA, The Good Food Guide and Conde Nast Traveller are published every year, sharing the best pubs around the UK to visit.

That is alongside articles from publications such as The Telegraph, The Times and more.

If you're looking for a quality establishment in the city to enjoy a crisp pint, then here are five that have been recognised.

5 award-winning Southampton pubs you can visit

Dancing Man Brewery

Address: Town Quay, Southampton, SO14 2AR

Dancing Man Brewery featured on CAMRA's (Campaign for Real Ale) Good Beer Guide for 2026.

It was praised for its "iconic" location in the Grade I-listed Wool House.

They added: " The bars feature up to 18 Dancing Man-brewed beers at any one time with seven options available on cask.

"The venue also features a bustling restaurant, booking is advised."

Dancing Man Brewery also hosts live music events for those keen to see a variety of different acts.

Olaf's Tun

Address: 8 Portsmouth Road, Woolston, Southampton, SO19 9AA

Olaf's Tun also featured in The Good Beer Guide for 2026, thanks to its wide selection of drinks, including six ever-changing real ales.

CAMRA added: "Community is important, with its rustic decor covered with blackboards, mirrors and posters showcasing numerous pub-run events and clubs which meet on-site, all contributing to the buzzing atmosphere of this friendly pub."

Alongside the drinks, the micropub offers some food options, with various different pizzas and other small plates such as cheesy bacon tots available.

Like the drinks, these dishes change quite often, so you'll likely have something new to try most weeks.

In terms of its history, the pub was converted from a shop in 2016 and had a remodelling in 2020, which introduced an enclosed cellar room and a more traditional bar.

The bar sports six handpumps, and the back wall has eight keg taps, according to CAMRA.

The Park Inn

Address: 37 Carlisle Road, Shirley, Southampton, SO16 4FN

The Park Inn was named one of England's top 500 pubs last year by The Telegraph writer Will Hawkes.

He cited the beer being served in "immaculate condition" as one of its strengths, as well as its atmosphere.

Hawkes added: "On a recent Friday afternoon, this tidy street corner pub was busy at 5pm: locals sat at the bar, chatting amiably, while three pugs slumbered in the sunlight flooding through an open door."

The Park Inn describes itself as a "traditional" pub that has a single bar yet "still retains a lounge and public bar feel".

While it's not a foodie pub, the landlady often home cooks some pies, scotch eggs or sausage rolls on Fridays, which are said to be popular.

Additionally, it prides itself on not offering a jukebox, pool table, or fruit machine, as it looks to encourage patrons to chat.

A quiz is held on Wednesdays and Sundays, as well as meat draws on Sundays and real ale socials.

One patron wrote on Tripadvisor: "I had been going to this pub for more than a decade and my partner for even longer.

"It is an excellent pub, and the current landlady and landlord is doing a great job to keep it that way."

Platform Tavern

Address: Town Quay, Southampton, SO14 2NY

Platform Tavern is a very well-known pub in Southampton that was featured in the most recent Good Beer Guide.

CAMRA says it "oozes history" with the pub dating back to 1873.

They add: "Beer, food and live music characterise the Platform, with bands appearing up to four days a week.

"An ever-changing selection of real ale and keg beers are available and good food is on offer seven days a week."

Platform Tavern offers plenty of "homemade goodness" in its food menu with freshly-made pizzas, fish and chips, burgers, "Desperate Dan style pies" and seafood specials among the options.

The South Western Arms

Address: 40 Adelaide Road, Southampton, SO17 2HW

The South Western Arms is another pub that was recognised in the 2026 CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

It was featured by the organisation thanks to its open-plan layout, locations close to St Denys train station and an "impressive selection" of ales.

They added: "The exposed brickwork includes some quirky wall pictures and bric-a-brac."

It's also well-regarded for its live music offerings at weekends.
