Anime cult classic Akira is making a return to the big screen.
Vue Eastleigh will begin screening the film on Friday, April 17.
Akira was originally released in 1988 and is set in a dystopian Neo-Tokyo following a third world war.
It follows a group of bikers whose lives are upended after one of them, Tetsuo, encounters a mysterious boy and is taken by the military to an experimental research facility.

The film is widely credited with introducing Japanese animation to a global audience.
Akira has since become a milestone in animation, celebrated for its complex narrative and stunning visual design.
General Manager at Vue Eastleigh, said: “We’re always excited to showcase groundbreaking and iconic releases at Vue and, with anime more popular than ever, we’re thrilled to bring back Akira – a film that originally brought anime into the mainstream."
