One of UK's biggest ships returns to Southampton today

One of the UK's biggest cruise ships has returned to Southampton today following a lengthy absence from the city

MSC Virtuosa, operated by MSC Cruises, arrived in the early hours of today at 7:47am after the ship was last seen on Southampton shores in late November 2025

The ship is one of the largest ships to regularly sail from Southampton and is due to begin a new series of itineraries in the coming days.

Launched in 2021, MSC Virtuosa is one of the largest cruise ships in the world, capable of carrying more than 6,000 passengers.

The ship features a range of attractions, including theatres, multiple restaurants, and one of the longest LED domes at sea.

Virtuosa also features 19 decks, with facilities including multiple pools, a full-service spa, theatres, and a wide range of international dining options.

Drivers should note their may be an increase in city centre traffic while the ship is in port.
