Access to the ferry terminal at Town Quay has begun to return to normal after earlier disruption caused by a crash involving a lorry.
Red Funnel has confirmed that Town Quay Road has now partially reopened, allowing vehicles to reach its Southampton terminal for boarding.
Operations director, Neil Chapman, said services are resuming but warned passengers to expect some delays as the situation stabilises.
He said: "Town Quay Road in Southampton has now partially reopened, and customers travelling with their vehicles, including freight, can now access our Southampton terminal and yard for boarding."

The operations director added: "Some delays are expected as operations return to normal and we advise customers travelling to Southampton to allow additional time for their journey."
Passengers are also being urged to check traffic updates and the latest ferry timetables online before travelling.
Mr Chapman thanked customers for their patience as services continue to recover.
