Drivers are being warned of traffic in the city centre next week as nine cruise ships are in port next week.

On May 2, three vessels including, P&O Cruises' Ventura and Iona as well as MSC Virtuosa, are all due in port within hours of each other.

Ventura is set to arrive at 2.30am and depart at 4pm, while Iona and MSC Virtuosa are both scheduled to dock at 6.15am, leaving later in the day.

Further arrivals are planned throughout the week, including MSC Virtuosa returning on May 4 alongside AIDAPerla.

Fred Olsen Cruises' Borealis is also expected on May 5, although arrival times have yet to be confirmed.

The port will see another busy day on May 8, with Britannia and Celebrity Apex both scheduled to visit.

The run of cruise calls is expected to bring increased visitor numbers and activity to the area, providing a boost for local businesses and tourism.
