A ferry operator and a coffee van have raised more than £1,000 for a charity.

Gosport Ferry and The Daily Grind Coffee Van joined forces to raise money for Sophie's Legacy, a charity supporting children and their families during hospital stays.

The week long fundraiser was launched by Daily Grind owner Chris Delin.

On a post of social media, Chris said: "When I started this back in December with a simple message to a charity I'd just discovered, I had no idea it would lead to this.

"I lost my mum to cancer when I was very young, and doing something meaningful for children in hospital felt like the right thing to do.

"What I didn't expect was just how much this community would show up.

"The reason I started this was mine. The reason it worked was all of you. Thank you Gosport. Forever."

Gosport Ferry matched every donation made meaning the coffee van and ferry raised a total of £1,012.10 for the charity.
