A hovercraft operator is set to trial a new route connecting Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Hovertravel Limited has announced it will be trialling a hovercraft route from Lee on the Solent to Ryde.

The proposed route will set off from the slipway at the Hovercraft Museum and will start with a once monthly running over the summer in June, August and September.

The first of these will take place on June 28 followed by a second on August 22 and a third on September 5.

Hovertravel is gauging public interest to potentially make this a permanent route, so those wishing to support the route can do so by purchasing a ticket for one of these trial dates.

Currently Hovertravel's high-speed passenger hovercraft can cross the Solent in just ten minutes running from Southsea to Ryde.

Residents wishing to book can contact info@hovertravel.com for more information.
