A planned training exercise will take place at Fawley Refinery today with smoke expected, residents have been informed.
ExxonMobil has planned a "controlled" fire response drill, which may release intermittent smoke at the Petrochemical Complex on Wednesday, May 27.
Residents close to Copthorne Lane and Ashlett Creek have been advised to anticipate these emissions.
The company has said that the activity is a routine part of its safety and emergency preparedness training.
ExxonMobil assured that the operation will be conducted safely and efficiently.
