Police have warned parents after reports that teenagers stole fire extinguishers from a Tesco in Bursledon.

Hampshire police are investigating reports of anti-social behaviour at the Tesco on Hamble Lane in Bursledon.

Police say fire extinguishers were stolen and discharged during the incidents, leaving them unavailable for genuine emergencies.

Enquiries into the reported theft and anti-social behaviour are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: "While we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incidents, we want to make parents and guardians aware of what has been reported to us.

"Do you know where your children are? Do you know what they are getting up to, not just now, but also heading into the summer months?

"Please can you have a chat with them. If you suspect they may have been involved, please remind them of the consequences of such actions.

"One such consequence will likely include a knock at the door from one of our officers.

"If you have any information about these latest incidents, please call 101 and quote incident number 44260211548."
