A team has completed the Three Peaks Challenge in memory of their late managing director.

Staff from Go South Coast, which operates the Bluestar bus service, took on the endurance event last weekend, raising more than £25,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Ed Wills, managing director of Go South Coast, said: "A group of us from Bluestar and the wider Go South Coast team – as well as some representatives from our parent company the Go-Ahead Group – completed this challenge in memory of our late managing director, Andrew Wickham.

"It's fitting that we accomplished this feat close to the first anniversary of Andrew’s passing."

The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – within 24 hours.

The funds raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK, as requested by Mr Wickham’s family.

Mr Wills said: "Our team worked incredibly hard to ensure we were able to complete the Three Peaks in 24 hours – and it meant a lot to all involved, given the very worthy cause behind the challenge.

"We raised more than £25,000, which will be donated to Cancer Research UK."
