Winchester man arrested after man raped outside Portsmouth nightclub

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping another man after an incident in Portsmouth.

The alleged offence took place on Winston Churchill Avenue in the early hours of Saturday, June 13.

A 21-year-old from Winchester was taken into custody, where he remains at this time.

Hampshire police said they are investigating a report they received at 3.39am on Saturday morning that a man had been raped.

The man is receiving support from specialist officers.

A spokesman for Hampshire police said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
