Lorry driver taken to hospital with serious injuries as A34 closed

A LORRY driver has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a crash this morning.

The crash took place on the A34 northbound carriageway today, Monday, June 15, at approximately 9.38am.

A police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 9.38am this morning (Monday, June 15), following a collision on the northbound carriageway of the A34 near Sutton Scotney involving a lorry.

"The driver of the lorry has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

"The road is currently closed while officers deal with the incident."

It is being reported from National Highways that the A34 Northbound will be closed until at least 5.15pm.

A diversion route is in place, with National Highways asking drivers to make sure they leave enough time for their journeys.
