A spokesperson for GAFIRS said: "With temperatures remaining extremely high, and following yesterday’s record-breaking temperature of 36.1C in Gosport, utmost respect must go to the responding crew.
"Working in dry suits and rescue equipment on such a hot day is far from comfortable, yet they carried out their tasking skilfully, professionally, and without hesitation.
"As always, we thank our dedicated volunteers for their commitment to keeping people safe on the water."
Sun glare was believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS) have said.
GAFIRS reminded water users to take extra care and always take a second look before manoeuvring, particularly in bright conditions.
