Southampton City Council has received a variety of planning applications in recent days, covering changes to residential, commercial, and mixed-use sites.

A non-material amendment is proposed to a previously approved application at 65 Darlington Gardens. The amendment seeks permission for changes to the cladding materials used on an existing rear dormer window. The application has been submitted retrospectively and is currently awaiting a decision.

A further non-material amendment concerns an outbuilding at 17 Cornwall Crescent. This application requests changes to the external cladding and fenestration previously approved as part of planning permission 26/00071/FUL.

An application has been lodged for a lawful development certificate at 4 Newcombe Road. The proposal seeks confirmation of the existing use of the property as a Class C4 house in multiple occupation (HMO).

At 123 Upper Shirley Avenue, an application has been made for a lawful development certificate to permit alterations to the property’s fenestrations and the removal of a chimney.

Approval is being sought for details reserved by condition 43 of permission 23/01474/FUL, concerning the redevelopment of 119-122 High Street and 55-59 Castle Way. The submission covers the Nitrogen Neutrality Mitigation Scheme for the city centre site.

A lawful development certificate application has been submitted for 12A Brighton Road. The proposal seeks to regularise the property’s existing use as a Class C4 HMO.

At 109 Ethelburt Avenue, an application has been made to fell a single pine tree, referred to as T1 in the submission.

A non-material amendment has been submitted for 2 Spear Road, linked to planning permission 22/01714/FUL. The proposal would allow demolition and rebuild of the existing building to create three dwellings. It includes changes to reduce the depth of windows and is described as retrospective.

An application has been lodged to retain an existing shopfront extension at 11 Commercial Road.

The council is considering an application relating to conditions for landscaping, lighting, and means of enclosure at 31–33 High Street. These details have been submitted in connection with the approved minor material amendment to planning reference 23/00645/MMA.

At 56 Providence Park, an application has been made to reduce the spread of a mature oak tree (T1). The works would see the portion of the tree overhanging the property pruned back by up to two metres at suitable growth points.

A full planning application has been submitted for the construction of a single-storey side extension at 6 Lakelands Drive. The proposal is currently under consideration.
