Shetland pony visits residents at Snowdrop Place care home

Trouble the pony visited Snowdrop Place care home, bringing joy and comfort to everyone, especially those living with dementia.

Gemma Moss, activities coordinator at Snowdrop Place, said: "Seeing the difference Trouble made to our residents was really special.

"Some residents who don't usually say very much were talking, smiling and interacting with him.

"It was lovely to watch the memories he brought back, especially for those living with dementia.

"We're so grateful to Genni and her daughter for giving their time and making the visit possible."

Residents spent the morning petting and chatting to Trouble, with many recalling fond memories of animals from their past.

Staff said the pony's presence seemed to lift spirits, especially among residents who are often more reserved.

The visit was made possible by carer Genni and her daughter, who kindly volunteered their time.
