Great Scott! Is that a flying car I see?!
This is what Southampton audiences can expect when Back to the Future the Musical arrives at Mayflower Theatre next summer.
For the first time ever, a picture has been released of the show's incredible finale with the DeLorean in flight over the auditorium.

Bob Gale, co-creator of the film trilogy and book writer for the stage adaptation, said of the first time he saw the iconic vehicle fly: "I was completely blown away! The illusions involving the DeLorean are next-level state-of-the-art, and I never get tired of seeing the car in action with an audience. This is truly the definition of stage magic. It’s one of those things you have to see for yourself. And even though there are times when you know how we’re creating the effect, you just get sucked into it. I still do, and I’ve probably seen it at least 150 times."
Winner of Best New Musical at the Olivier Awards, the show flies into Southampton from June 8 to July 3 2027.
